Floral Workshop + Fundraiser - Oct. 7
Join us for a fall floral workshop + fundraiser for Kidsave - forever families for all kids, everywhere.
Kidsave Chicago is super excited to welcome you and your friends to Indigo & Violet Studio! We are preparing a fun evening with a world-class Floral Designer to learn how to create a wonderful floral arrangement. Learn how to implement professional techniques that are transferable to any holiday or special occasion arrangement you would like to recreate in the future. Get ready for a wonderful evening full of creativity, great inspiration, and networking.
All supplies are provided. All levels are welcome - no experience is required. All Indigo & Violet Studio events are BYOB - feel free to bring drinks or snacks to enjoy during our workshop time together! There will also be silent auction items to bid on before and after our floral adventure.
There is ample metered street parking closest to the studio along both sides of Irving Park Rd. There is also free street parking anywhere north of Irving Park/Southport.

About the instructor:
Monica García is a professional Floral Designer and CEO of Joublomme Flower Studio in Lima, Peru. She graduated from the International School of Floral Art, and has over five years of experience in the industry. She also attended The Flower School in New York and Los Angeles, La Scola DissenyFloral in Barcelona and she received mentorship training from experienced and well-known floral designers like Bart Hassam, Michael Gaffney, Daniel Santamaria, and Leopoldo Gómez to mention a few. Monica has won the National floral float competition in Peru and has participated in many international competitions representing her Country. She is very excited to teach this workshop in Chicago and she is preparing for the Interflora World Cup, where she will be representing her home country in Manchester, UK in 2023.
About Kidsave:
Kidsave is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping older kids living in foster care in the U.S. and in Colombia, find permanent adoptive families in the U.S. through a hosting family visit model. Kidsave has the stamina, grit, and dedication to help kids who are forgotten. These kids stay at the forefront of our thoughts and enable the organization's work to remain focused and passionate. The Kidsave Chicago chapter has been running the Summer Miracles program since 2013. Kidsave volunteers are dedicated to supporting the kids and the host families. Since its inception, Kidsave Chicago has found adoptive families for 20 older Colombian children visiting the U.S. for a few weeks during the Summer and Winter holidays.
Here's what each project will include:
- assortment of seasonal fresh florals, eucalyptus, and greenery - florals may differ slightly from photo shown here
- choice of glass/ceramic vases
- design tips to fill out your container
- care tips to keep your flowers fresher longer
Safety protocols:
- Up to 20 tickets are available
- Studio will follow all local and state safety mandates at the time of event - masks are not currently required
- BYOB beer, wine, and snacks are welcome
- Please let us know if a friend or two also sign up - we'll make sure to sit you next to each other
